"D'OH"

The Simpsons (Or I can't believe it's not British) started when the producers of "The Tracy Ulman show" wanted a 15 second shorts of Animation to go to commercial with, the segments were so popular that they got longer and longer and were eventually given there own show.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie have become household names all over the world and have even been referred to by a certain US ex president I could mention. It is unfathomable that the show has been running for over a decade is still a fresh as it ever was. (If not fresher)

The celebrities that have been associated with the show over the years is so large that if I listed them I would have to buy more web space. Without a doubt the finest comedy has ever produced, It just leaves One question unanswered.... Matt Goring, How did you manage it ?

Springfield. A quiet suburban town overshadowed by the Burns run nuclear power station. The home of the Simpsons. Strange looking yellow humanoids are the true opposite of awful American families like The Waltons and The Brady Bunch that portrayed the stereotypical American family on TV for years. Series creator Matt Groening can't possibly have imagined that a 30 second slot on the Tracy Ullman Show would have turned out to be this successful. Now it is shown in over 70 countries, with major stars practically begging to be caricatured on the show, with themselves providing their own voices. some of the famous names who have appeared include, Barry White, Jason Preistley, Tom Jones, Michael Jackson, Liz Taylor, Adam West, Leonard Nimoy, Micky Rooney, Winona Ryder and many, many more to name but a few, oh and not forgetting Aerosmith, The Ramones and the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

Homer has even appeared in a British TV commercial for Walkers Doritos Nacho Chips The family members are Homer J., Marjorie (Marge), Bartholomew (Bart), Lisa and baby Maggie. Homer's father Abraham Simpson lives mostly in the old folks home, but has lived with the family on several occasions Homer loves his family but is such a plank and has no idea how to communicate with them. Totally immune to anything resembling common sense. Marge tries hard where Homer fails, but all he thinks about is beer, doughnuts and TV. Bart is always getting into some kind of trouble, whether it's shoplifting or making obscene phone calls. He's proud to be the world's biggest under achiever. Lisa is the opposite, almost a genius and puts doubt on who her real father actually is!
